Developer Toolchain Polywrap Successfully Raises $1M USD in Pre-Seed Round 🌱

The funds are in. Now, it's time to build.

The Polywrap DAO is developing a toolchain that brings a superior developer experience and multiplatform support to Web3. The toolchain will be built to solve many of the integration problems that slow down innovation and hinder adoption for Web3 projects today. This will broaden the gateway to Web3 for developers, enterprises, and beyond.

On December 30, 2020, the Polywrap DAO officially closed $1M in its pre-seed funding round.

With special thanks to:

Rarestone Capital, TRGC, Gnosis, Autark Ventures, MANTRA DAO, ZMT Capital, Ascensive Asset Management, D1 Ventures, Koios, Atka Capital, Vendetta Capital, Faculty Group, LD Capital, IOSG Ventures, and A195 Capital.

And Griff Green; Albert Castellana, CEO of StakeHound; Eric Arsenault and Yalor Arnold of MetaCartel; Philippe Honigman; Tony Snark; Jesse B. Miller, Co-Founder of Squad Games.

These backers have joined the Polywrap DAO to help bridge the gap between Web3 and Web2 developers, enterprises, and platforms. The Polywrap DAO is immensely grateful for the enthusiasm, expediency, and contributions to the project.

The DAO has also partnered with several strategic adopters to provide early feedback and bootstrap network effects across distinct sectors of the Web3 ecosystem:

  • Gnosis- Building new market mechanisms for decentralized finance

  • Fleek- Infrastructure for decentralized websites, web & native apps

  • Rockside- Ethereum transactions validated on time at the best price

  • Torus- An open-source key management system for Web3

  • Pocket Network- Trustless access to the full API for any blockchain client through a global, distributed network of node operators

  • MANTRA DAO- A community-governed DeFi platform focusing on Staking, Lending, and Governance

  • Abridged- A technology stack to build and manage decentralized projects

  • DXdao-A DAO that develops, governs, and grows DeFi protocols and products

  • Squad Games- A radical new way to build video games with mods in mind

  • Aleph- Decentralized storage and computing for internet-scale applications and DeFi

The Polywrap DAO enthusiastically inducts all of the above organizations as members of its initiative in the maturation of the Web3 ecosystem.

Last but not least, we’d also like to shout-out to the builder squads already hard at work driving the roadmap forward:

  • dOrg - Web3 development collective building out Polywrap and helping with adoption

  • Concorde Studio - Product studio working on the Web3Hub

  • Node Factory - Blockchain R&D shop working on the Polywrap technical specification and core codebase

"Over the past 2 years I've had the pleasure of helping develop solutions for many different Web3 startups. During this time, I've been trying to figure out the missing link inside of the 'protocol-to-application' integration pipeline. After several iterations, I believe what we're building with Polywrap is poised to bridge this gap, accelerating Web3's rate of adoption significantly. We are immensely humbled and grateful to everyone in our network that's supported us this far, and I'm looking forward to what happens next once this tooling is in developers' hands." - Jordan Ellis, Tech Lead

Vision

As the Polywrap toolchain matures and the standard is adopted, the DAO also plans to release value-added services through the Web3Hub. The Hub will be a place for anyone to discover, inspect, and interact with a curated selection of APIs. Developers and enterprises will also be able to utilize the Hub for analytics, automations, alerts, and infrastructural support.
